Construction not obstruction
We pursue a "construction not obstruction" build policy. Simply put, this means using superior planning and site
management protocols to ensure that disruption to the environment immediately surrounding the construction zone
is minimised.
When construction projects are undertaken in urban or disruption-sensitive areas negative impacts on the surrounding
environment can happen in two ways:
Physical obstruction
Due to closed pathways and detours, construction traffic, on-site support offices and delivery areas etc.
Sensory obstruction
Mainly attributable to noise and dust but also includes issues of lifestyle/habit disruption due to an
altered environment.
In the past, significant disruption of the surrounding environment was considered a necessary evil, but today
the willingness of the public and neighbouring activities to accept such impositions is limited. We believe that a
comprehensive build impact analysis is an essential component of the contemporary construction process. This
adherence to a construction not obstruction build policy has resulted in significantly enhanced customer satisfaction. |
